In Alphonse Mucha: Art Nouveau Visionary, you will discover various interactive components. To celebrate the upcomingAlphonse Mucha: Art Nouveau Visionary exhibition opening October 23, the NCMA deputed 3 North Carolina–based artists to reinterpret Mucha's iconic fine art nouveau works from the turn of the 20th century. These reinterpretations explore contemporary definitions of beauty and widened cultural representation. The juxtaposition of the new designs and well-known Mucha images are intended to spark conversation about the art historical canon.
The 3 commissions are past Lumbee creative person Alisha Locklear Monroe, an art teacher and former employee of the Museum of the Southeast American Indian at UNC Pembroke; painter and muralist Tori "FNoRD" Carpenter, who has shown her work statewide and is a disabled creative person working with Arts Access, a group the NCMA collaborates with to make the Museum more accessible; and Lakeshia T. Reid, a Black painter who is the owner of 311 Gallery and has been in exhibitions in the National Humanities Centre and Shaw Academy through partnerships with VAE Raleigh.
These posters are featured in the exhibition gallery at the NCMA also as in installations in North Hills and at the Citrix part building across from Morgan Street Food Hall at West and Hargett streets. Stay tuned for details on a November 5 First Fri result at the Citrix display featuring an creative person meet and greet and affiche giveaway.

Fall 2021 Billboards: Mod Mucha
Every other year, the NCMA holds a competition for college-student artists from or studying in North Carolina and selects the artwork of 3 students to exist displayed on billboards in the Museum Park. Listen, Look, and Learn: All about Alphonse Mucha
If you are planning to visit with children, consider listening to our children's audio tour. The bout takes between 15 and 20 minutes and highlights 15 works of art in the exhibition. It is intended for ages 7+, but all are welcome to explore and larn.

Parking
Company parking is free and available in the Blue Ridge lots, on the right after entering the Museum drive. Overflow parking is behind West Building, on the left after inbound the Museum drive. Company driblet-off is located between Westward and East buildings and can be reached by turning left afterward entering the Museum drive and following the signs.
